It is a traditional form of Swedish massage using pressure to relax muscles. In this article we will discuss why we should stretch our body before and after training. One of the reasons why se stretch our body before any training and any of the physical exercise is to open up the muscle fibers. If you are an athlete than Sports Massage is for you to relax your senses.
Pre training is not as what few people consider it as a warm up. You should do warm up for your training. You should do a warm up first for the training you are doing. Well Sports Massage is not just for athletes. Sports massage appears to be the latest “Hot thing” but in fact it has been practiced for thousands of years.
There are four types of Massage:
1. Pre-Event
2. Post-Event
3. Restorative
4. Rehabilitative
The purpose of massage after the event is to aid the athlete to recover from an activity. This is achieved by reducing post exercise soreness, re-establishing full range of motion and enhancing flow of blood to tight muscles. One can heal from the strenuous competition and can be dramatically reduced with a good post massage. Massage done after sports to athlete to recover him from the strenuous environment is called Sports Massage. It increases the blood flow in the body and relaxes your cell tissues and muscles. During this massage session the skin and muscles are warmed, blood flow to the muscle is improved and toxins are removed from the body as pressure creates an active area in the body.
There is a technique “Petrissage” that involves kneading, focusing on more specific areas and going deeper into the muscles tissue. In this the blood flow is maximized and knotted muscles start working. Finally friction is useful when properly applied. Harsh rubbing will definitely irritate anyone.
